Today’s Quote

“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

— Martin Luther King Jr.

The first step is always the hardest.

Then all you have to do is stay in the game.

Today’s Framework

Question to Design Your Dream Life:

What would you do if your success were guaranteed?

We’ve all had that idea, that business we wanted to start, that dream we wanted to follow but our fear of failure holds us back. We cut ourselves down at the knees before we even begin. We create narratives in our minds that limit what we believe we are capable of achieving.

An honest truth: Both you and I are capable of more than we can imagine.

There’s an old study done on fleas that I absolutely love. And what it says is that a flea has the innate ability to perform a 20-centimeter vertical jump in its natural environment.

But if you were to capture this flea and place it in a mason jar that’s 16 centimeters high, it’s going to repeatedly try to escape, learning that the lid now imposes its limitations. Eventually, this smaller world becomes its new reality.

Now, if you were to add a second flea to the jar, and they were to mate and have a baby, this flea would grow up in a world of limitations. It would never explicitly be told it can’t jump higher than 16cm, it would have the exact same genetic sequence as its parents, but the lid would constantly be there creating a glass ceiling.

And then if you were to go to remove this lid, this flea would not be able to jump out of the jar because its body and brain would have become reconditioned and reprogrammed to believe that it can only jump as high as the lid.

This flea will have the exact same innate physical capabilities to be able to jump out of the jar, but its mind will be limiting it.

This same principle is true with people. We create and then place perceptions and limitations on ourselves.

What are the areas in your life where you have created theoretical lids (glass ceilings) for yourself?

Another honest truth: You created these limitations in your own mind.

But this also means you have the ability to remove them.

Open the lid. Free your mind.

I love to wind down at night by watching training videos, catching up on the Tour De France, and other creators on Youtube.

I rarely (if ever) turn on the TV and watch anything besides YouTube.

Today’s Optimization

Protein plays an integral role in the creation and maintenance of every cell in our bodies; it fuels all of our essential functions. I use protein powder multiple times a day every single day, so it is vital to have one that not only tastes great but makes me feel great, and Human Improvement is a 10/10 on both counts.

Human Improvement is essential for my recovery and helping build and maintain lean muscle. The reason I am able to train at such a high volume is because of the fuel I put in my body.
